Katie and Kenny

Tour the Railroad

Katie and Kenny, along with their father, are taken on a tour of the local railroad yard by an engineer with the railroad. The basis of the book is to introduce children to the role railroads play in our lives, their importance, and to stress safety around railroads and their equipment: “NO PLAYGROUND!”

About the Author

Keith N. Corman developed an early love of trains. At his boyhood home in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the Baltimore and Ohio line ran within view and a New York Central branch bordered his backyard. Daily he’d race to watch the trains pass. The steam locomotives still in use were particularly exciting. All of his family and neighborhood knew the importance of safety around the railroads.
